Howto Compile SQLite Java Wrapper for Windows: Install java in a path without spaces. Install Microsoft Visual C++ 6.0 Download latest version of javasqlite-XXXXXXXX.tar.gz from http://www.ch-werner.de/javasqlite/. Locate and download sqlite-3.2.1.tar.gz (i.e. http://www.scyllacharybdis.com/download/sqlite-3.2.1.tar.gz). Unpack javasqlite-XXXXXXXX.tar.gz to a folder. Unpack sqlite-3.2.1.tar.gz inside this folder. Inside the javasqlite folder, edit the javasqlite3.mak file to meet your specific path to your java installation. Locate JAVA_HOME and edit the path: JAVA_HOME = C:\Java\jdk1.5.0_06 Start a command window and cd to the javasqlite folder. Now type: $ "C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio\VC98\Bin\nmake" javasqlite3.mak This should start the compilation. After the compilation is complete you should have some new files in the folder. To be specific there are only two files that are meaningful to the build, "sqlite.jar" and "sqlite_jni.dll". Enjoy. To test the installation, type: $ java -jar sqlite.jar db Now you should be running the Java SQLite Wrapper. To exit type: $ .exit Now it's time to create a table and add some entries: $ java -jar sqlite.jar db "create table t1 (t1key INTEGER PRIMARY KEY,data TEXT,num double, timeEnter DATE);" $ java -jar sqlite.jar db "insert into t1 (data, num) values ('This is sample data',3);" $ java -jar sqlite.jar db "insert into t1 (data, num) values ('More sample data',6);" $ java -jar sqlite.jar db "insert into t1 (data, num) values ('And a little more',9);" //Anton Johansson
